I am a simple university student that enjoys seeing the world in new ways. Yesterday I sat at a coffee shop looking out at the busy street as people rushed hurriedly doing various tasks. This made me start to realise at when people are using technology they want things done swiftly to match their run about lifestyle. As I picked up my new iPad air I hear the words of Steve jobs ringing in my ears. These being that technology should be a natural extension of the body. Although for technology to achieve this goal in this day and age it needs to keep up with our forever moving lifestyles.
Quick and easy: I find that these days we take our technology as we take our food “quick and easy”. So when I grab my iPad I want to be able to do tasks instantaneously. With thanks to the many app developers I can now achieve this goal. For example write now I am writing this post in Evernote which I can transfer to Blogsy and upload to my website instantaneously. I find hat Evernote is a great example of an app that has adapted to our busy lifestyles. If you know of anymore feel free to add them in the comments below.

A natural extension of the body: When Steve was designing he iPod he would constantly say that it should be a natural extension of the body. The shape, feel and even the workings of the iPod should feel natural. Now all these years down the track I find myself using my iPad air and knowing that his words are still shaping the way apples technology is being made. When I turned on my iPad I was informed that Siri was included as one of the apps. I recall watching the iron man movie and seeing Tony Stark work all of his machines with his voice. If that’s not a natural extension of the body I don’t know what is. So when I picked up the iPad I expected it to act same way as the super suit did in iron man. I’m proud to say that Siri didn’t disappoint as each command was completed swiftly and easily. So in conclusion I would like to say that it’s great to see that Steve Jobs attitudes towards technology are still forming the backbone for apples new products.
